because I don't like the tea review sites I've seen

ok so, I drink a lot of tea.
It's kind of ridiculous, but in my defense I spend so much of my time being cold!
there've been several teas that I've fallen in love with that I can't find anymore, either due to being discontinued or because of bad luck.
we're moving into a much smaller house so I am def gonna hafta get rid of some of the stuff I've been hanging on to, like empty tea containers that I don't wanna forget I love.
esp since teavana is closing!  I am fixing to order from adagio but I dunno...  nobody I've seen makes quite the potpourri that teavana manages :x
so I'm gonna blog about a few of them, and then I'm gonna get back to stats.

Brand: Bentley's
Type: Rooibos
Name: Vanilla Rooibos
Bags/Loose: Bags
Ingredients: Rooibos her, chamomile, vanilla and apple flavor
Review:  christel gave me a tin when she didn't like it.  I love it.  I've been saving the last 3 bags for one last go.  she got it at biglots, and while I've been several times I've never been able to find it.  smells and tastes amazing.  absolutely requires sugar.  seriously wish I could find more of this stuff.

Brand: Teavana
Type: Flavored White Tea
Name: Golden Mojito
Bags/Loose: Loose
Ingredients: White tea, candied pineapple pieces, citrus peels, citrus slices, candied mango pieces, apple pieces, flavoring, sea bucktorn berries, pineapple chips, spearmint, peppermint, stevia leaves
Review: honestly it's been so long since I've had any (I've been saving the bag hoping teavana would bring it back) that all I remember is that I loved it.  qq.

Brand: Teavana
Type: Herbal Infusion
Name: Caramel Almond Amaretti
Bags/Loose: Loose
Ingredients: Apple pieces, cinnamon, sliced almonds, beetroot pieces, artificial flavoring
Review: so, teavana still sells something called "Caramel Almond Amaretti" but it is definitely not the same thing.  I spent $50 on a tea-filled tin only to find it's actually terrible!  so RIP awesome caramel almond amaretti, you will be missed.  I actually haven't opened this bag, but like the bentley's vanilla rooibos up top, I don't wanna waste it on just any day.  this is special occasion tea.  it's like fresh socks, ya know?

Brand: Teavana
Type: Flavored Rooibos
Name: White Chocolate Peppermint
Bags/Loose: Loose
Ingredients: White cocoa pieces, cocoa kernels, carob pieces, red rooibos, natural & artificial flavor, vanilla pieces, licorice root
Review: As a rule I strongly dislike chocolate in my tea.  my nephew came over the other night and accepted (yay!) when I offered him some tea.  he wanted some rooibos and ended up picking out this tea.  I was obviously wary, but it went way better than expected.  I finished the entire bag over the course of the next day.  so tasty!  it's not on teavana.com atm but I am hoping it will be coming back.

that's all for now folks.
if I can make it through the next 3 weeks my semester will slow down (once midterms & the src are over).
but for now, I'm gonna make a cup of tea (surprised, aren't you?) and get back to stats.

unrelated:  I've been on a black tea kick AND it's pumpkin season.  these chocolate pumpkin pie biscotti are so delicious!

edit:  as I was hitting "publish" the doorbell rang.  I got a tea bag organizer, so I'm gonna fuck with that first :x

fuck me in the ass

I put off working on a program for the amp src (not ~just~ procrastinating but I've legitimately been busy!) and just now noticed abstracts are due on friday.
fml, ugh.
gonna hafta check with my mentor and see if he'll sign off on me using fuzzy sets to find the ideal house for sale.
and gfg @ zillow not letting me export to .csv =/
I'll take this time to repeat myself,
UGH!

RIP Soylent Nectar

so...  soylent canceled nectar.
ugh.
and their chai leaves quite a bit to be desired.
supposedly there's gonna be a new flavor to replace nectar, which is good, but since I liked nectar and there's no telling if I'm gonna like the new flavor...  I just don't know if I can get excited about it.

in other news:
I really wanna start updating my technology (the comp I'm using right now is from 2012!  and also, I want an apple watch lol (for real though fuck fitbit, their hardware sucks ass)) but all my spending money for the next I-don't-even-know-how-long will be going to school loans.
/sigh

but I don't care if you care

wahoo!
not only am I getting to write my capstone on the good samaritan (as I mentioned, the relationship between Jews and Samaritans and how that relationship affected "neighbor"), but my first two choices for my faculty panel accepted!
I have sooo much reading to do this semester.
honestly, with how much work these 3 classes are turning out to be, I don't know how I'd have managed if I was full-time.

since I won't be spending the entire semester here, I switched to online classes.
I also work for the school, as a math tutor, and me not being here physically is a problem.
esp since I got a new boss in the middle of last semester, who doesn't know me at all.
I was worried she would just not hire me once I let her know I wouldn't be able to SI for cal 2, but instead she's let me stay on as a strictly online tutor for all lower level math classes (well, save for the teacher math classes, but I've never taken any of those (even though I did want to, lol)).
there've also been some changes to the way our office hours work, so I get to charge 4 hours a week even if I have no students.
and, as you might imagine, I've had no students, even though I've contacted all the online math teachers and asked them to post my business card to blackboard.
so, while I don't get paid much, I've been worried about being dropped since I'm only billing them and have no students.
however! my boss got me in contact with a student today and I've tentatively scheduled recurring 1-1's with the student for 2 hours twice a week.
wahoo, I'll be raking in the dough! :x

in other news, I really wanna write my capstone on the parable of the good samaritan, but I am def having trouble coming up with a thesis.
so far, the best research question I've come up with is: how did the relationship between jews and samaritans affect the definition of "neighbor" in the parable of the good samaritan?
somehow I've gotta turn that into a thesis... but truly I am interested in the dynamic so hopefully it'll work out.
