friday night when we got home from work fisk was having some labored breathing
we took him to the vet where he got an xray and we got some really bad news.
fisk stayed overnight for oxygen, steroids, and to get tapped
vet drained ~ 120cc of fluid from his chest and abdomen on saturday
gave us some antibiotics
warned us to keep an eye on his breathing
we brought him home late saturday afternoon.
by sunday evening his breathing was labored again
vet was in surgery all day on monday so we took fisk to the sister clinic that is closer to the house
new vet is the one that saw him about a year ago - she's the one who suggested leaving the sink on for him.
she also gets an xray and while examining him notices his heart is beating super fast.
might be heart failure instead of cancer. this is good - heart failure can be treated.
schedules an ecg for him on tuesday and drains about 145cc from him on monday
stays overnight again.
drains another 40cc before the ecg
yesterday we get to visit him for about an hour and a half
he's so much more like himself - talking and loving on us and wanting to roam about
we just got a phone call from the vet, results are back and now waiting for the vet to review and get back to us.
cancer is a death sentence. heart failure can be treated.
everyone at the vet keeps telling us how sweet he is and how wonderful he's been.
and of course he has. he's always been such a sweet kitty.
